"Swimming with Giants"

Photographing sharks, especially whale sharks, is something I've always wanted to do.

I try not to re-post activism pieces on this page, but understanding and saving sharks is something I feel strongly about.  One of the main concerns with halting overfishing is the effect that it will have on the lives of local fishermen.  How can they continue to support their families if they aren't allowed to hunt for the most lucrative catch?  The story below reveals an answer that may be the key to finding a middle-ground.

The relationship between these fishermen and the sharks is just awe-inspiring.  This is such an amazing story with strong pros and cons.  It'll be interesting to see how it progresses.  For now, I think it's an incredible direction to bring awareness and help people attain a better understanding.
